Hello all,
Before I get on with the body of this note, I want to take a moment to say a huge “THANK YOU!” to Keith Johnson, our past-president and Lewis Larson, our outgoing secretary/treasurer, for their years of service to our state chapter, Kappa Theta.
For those of you who I have not met, I am Chip Williams and was “elected” President at our meeting this past February at the MMEA Convention. Additionally, our new Secretary/Treasurer is Andy Nelson, currently teaching in Milaca, Minnesota. Our new Vice-President is Doug Bakkum from Anoka’s Andover High School.
One of the items I want to mention here is the cost and location of our annual dinner during MMEA. Hell’s Kitchen is costing us quite a bit more money than we are bringing in with the fees charged for the event. We are checking out our options and contemplating one of the following: 1) raising the cost of the dinner, 2) changing venues, and 3) both of these actions. We will keep you posted.
Please watch for a note soon from Andy Nelson regarding payment of your dues. It would be great if he did not have to chase around trying to get these collected in a timely fashion. Thanks!
